Extracting brake fluid from the reservoir is a must anytime you change brake pads or flush the fluid. Extracting old power steering fluid from the reservoir first will speed the flushing procedure. Extracting excess transmission fluid when you over fill it can be difficult and messy... especially if you only need to remove a very small amount of fluid.
Problem & Solution
Common among these chassis:
Over the years Kent has tried all kinds of things to extract these fluids. Various little hand pumps including numerous bulb pumps like you see above. These tend to spill or splatter fluid (and you do not want brake fluid getting on your car's paint). And you have to make mulitple attempts so you end up spilling or dripping even more fluid! Enter the Ultimate Fluid Extractor. Kent put this together from two different tools and then sourced the hose and tubing you need to make it universal.
Now this pump REALLY works. Here you can see it easily and quickly extracts brake fluid from the reservoir prior to pressure brake bleeding. Talk about handy when you over fill your transmission. Just insert the long tube into the tranny and slowly pump to where you can extract just the right amount - even if it is only 1/4 cup. Every D.I.Y. mechanic should have this Ultimate Fluid Extractor.
