Depends a lot on the climate and how the car was stored but you should always begin with new fuel and filters
In the summer of 2014 Kent picked up a 1976 240D that had not run in 6 years. When a diesel has sat that long there will be quite a bit of service work you will have to do before you can safely drive it again.
