With one fuel tank it means you have to start the engine on vegetable oil. That can be a challenge especially when the temperature drops below freezing. With a single tank system you eliminate a lot of complexity, but the compromise may mean you will have to mix diesel fuel with the veggie when temperatures approach freezing; and you may need to run up to a 70 to 80 percent diesel fuel mix when the temperature drops into the teens.
Problem & Solution
Common among these chassis:
Kent prefers the single tank system for older Mercedes diesels. In fact we only offer single tank systems that are reliable, inexpensive, easy to install and easy to operate. Our STC 100 kit comes with many "off the shelf" parts that make it easy to repair in the future. We highly recommend the use of an electric fuel boost pump back at the tank to help push the thicker fuel up to the engine compartment.
We also offer many of the components separately so you can custom build your own system. Just type SVO in the search box and you can see the complete list of everything we have available.
