2006 to 2012 M273 V8 Oil Separator Replacement Kit

Includes both normal and high-speed V8 oil separators with extras. Should be changed every 40,000 to 50,000 miles.

How do you know if these parts need replacing? If you have driven 50,000 miles since it was installed or last changed then they need to be replaced to prevent oil from entering your intake manifold. Other key indicators of replacement need are small puffs of blue smoke at startup, having to regularly add engine oil, and exhaust burning smell on the right side of the engine. Watch Kent's YouTube video below and he will explain how the high-speed ( full throttle) separator system works. If you need to replace the hoses, they can be purchased separately below.

Product Details

This is a relatively easy DIY job, but there is one pitfall. The bolt holding the drip pan (centrifuge) to the end of the camshaft is a REVERSE thread. That bolt and the four bolts holding on the vent cover require a particular tightening sequence that requires a torque wrench. Most small torque wrenches will not torque "in reverse." Kent prefers using a small beam torque wrench that goes both ways. See related products below to purchase separately.  272273
