Fits 116 123 and 126 chassis diesel engines from 1977 to 1985. This includes the 240D, 300D, 300TD and 300D/300SD turbo engines. This short coolant hose is located right below your engine thermostat housing. Replacing it requires removal of the thermostat housing from the cylinder head. This is not a difficult job, but it is very important as it often gets overlooked when the other hoses are changed. If this hose splits open when you are driving, it could overheat and ruin your engine. Best to change this hose before it gives out. Take a close look at it. If you see a lot of oil in and around the hose change it now!
Product Details
Our kit includes a correct short section of very special heavy duty hose (so you will not have to change it again for a long time), 2 quality hose clamps, correct thermostat housing gasket, and PDF complete instructions.
Check out our tool to remove difficult radiator hoses from corroded housings - listed below.
If you are considering replacing this hose, plan to change the thermostat at the same time. Especially if you have not done so in the past couple years. Look below to view the thermostat kit!
PLEASE NOTE: If you have a 77-79 123 chassis 240D or 300D with a YORK air condition compressor located on the passenger forward side of engine compartment you will need to remove the compressor mounting bracket to gain access to the short hose. Our instructions do not cover the specific steps to removing and replacing this bracket.
