Why do you need all this just to replace the vacuum hose at the front of the intake manifold? The manual says you have to remove the intake manifold from the engine. If you don't want to remove the manifold and you have heard you can replace the hose by "splicing it in" the hard-to-reach bottom of the manifold, just try it. Watch the YouTube video below to get a quick overview of the challenge. When you are all done, you will have a couple of "universal use" tools that you can use for other projects. ( long 90-degree needle nose pliers and long "lifting" pry bar).
Product Details
This kit contains three tools ( two modified), one modified brass fitting, quality vacuum hose, a special self-stick mirror, and detailed instructions. The video instructions are included here free, but you can purchase them separately if you want to try this without purchasing the kit. DISCLAIMER: In severe cases on high mileage engines the hose that goes into the intake manifold may have come apart in chunks. In this cas this kit will NOT work. You have to have enough solid hose still intact in the manifold in order to install the 90-degree fitting.
Here is the access point, and it is a tight fit!
