Diesel engine Shut-off Switch at Ignition Key - Get a spare while still available. This SHOULD BE REPLACED if you find oil inside the switch when changing the steering lock. .

Fits the following: All W116 W123 and W126 Chassis Diesels from 1977-1985. This is a brand new Genuine Mercedes Steering lock vacuum shut-off valve that is located on the back of your ignition lock assembly. We include 2 pieces of correct sized rubber vacuum hose as shown.

Product Details

The vacuum lines that control your engine shutoff go from the engine compartment to this valve at the lock assembly. If you are having problems with the car not shutting off this could be the culprit!

The under-dash vacuum switch looks like this and is located under the dash on top of the steering lock. You will need to remove the steering lock to replace it. General instructions are included to help you remove the steering lock. Be sure to replace the vacuum hose. WARNING: DO NOT SWITCH THE HOSES OR YOUR ENGINE WILL NOT START RIGHT AFTER TURNING IT OFF. Keep track of which nipple goes to which hose color. If you loose track, the hose coming from your vacuum source needs to go into the bottom nipple.
