Testing fuel pressure is a simple procedure on the D-Jetronic engines, but it is absolutely essential. If your fuel pressure is off even a few pounds, it will dramatically change the fuel mixture, and your engine will end up running too rich or too lean. This test will show you if your fuel pump and fuel filter are performing properly. It will also determine whether your fuel pressure regulator is working properly ( you will not be able to adjust pressure if it has failed) and let you know if your fuel injectors are leaking after the engine shuts down.

The gauges that come with most commercially available pressure testers are cheaply made and horribly inaccurate. We install here in our shop a high quality liquid filled gauge for testing. The heavy liquid in the gauge protects the fragile needle gears from damage due to engine vibration and impacts.
You only have one fitting to connect before you are ready for testing. Make sure it is tight so it will not leak fuel.
Before hooking up a pressure tester, you MUST depressurize the fuel rail. This kit does not include a fuel depressurization kit which we no longer sell. Just be careful when you remove any rubber hose on the fuel rail that you do it VERY slowly with a rag wrapped around the fitting when you gently remove the hose.
We include extra high-pressure fuel injector hoses if you need them, along with two clamps. The black plastic plugs we provide can plug off the engine fuel hoses when you remove them to prevent fuel leakage.
We offer additional kits to help you get your D-jet engine running properly and safely. See related products below:
