PLEASE NOTE: WILL NOT WORK ON W116 1978-1980 300SD MOTOR MOUNT ARMS!!!
Product Details
In over half the motor mount bolts I have removed on the older diesel engine, I have found threads that are either stretched, galled, or stripped. This is partly due to the heavy vibrations of the diesel engine. If the threads are badly stripped I recommend you try to find a good used replacement motor mount arm. If they are either stretched of galled you MUST use a thread chaser to "clean up" the threads before reinstalling the bolt or you could end you with some real problems. The bolts can also become stretched.

Kent does not recommend using a tap. The teeth are to sharp and you can easily damage the aluminum threads if you do not start the tap perfectly. In order to use this thread chaser you will need to raise the engine and remove the rubber motor mount to give you the proper clearance to work.
